Sell Your Record Collection

Sell Your Record Collection

Have Records, CDs, or Cassettes to Sell?

Maple City Music is always looking for quality vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and music collections.

Whether you're downsizing your collection, have inherited records you don't know what to do with, are moving, or have music you no longer listen to, we'd be happy to take a look.

From a handful of great records to an entire collection, we'd love to hear what you have.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in music across a wide range of genres, including:

• Rock & Classic Rock
• Metal & Hard Rock
• Punk & Alternative
• Jazz & Blues
• Soul, Funk & R&B
• Hip-Hop & Rap
• Country & Americana
• Reggae & World Music
• Electronic & Experimental
• Soundtracks
• Vermont & Local Artists
• And much more

We consider both common and collectible titles. Condition, artist, pressing, demand, and overall salability all factor into value.

We're also interested in select CDs, cassettes, box sets, music memorabilia, and other music-related collectibles.

Collections Large and Small

You don't need to have thousands of records.

We're happy to consider everything from a small group of desirable albums to a lifelong collection.

If you have a particularly large collection, contact us first so we can discuss the best way to evaluate it.

How It Works

1. Tell Us What You Have

Send us a message with a little information about your collection. Approximate quantity, genres, artists, and general condition are helpful.

2. Send Some Photos

For larger collections, a few photos of the records, shelves, boxes, or representative titles can help us understand what you have before arranging an evaluation.

You don't need to photograph every record.

3. We'll Take a Look

We'll evaluate the collection based on factors including condition, pressing, artist, title, demand, and current market value.

4. We'll Make an Offer

If we're interested in purchasing the collection, we'll provide a fair offer.

There is never any obligation or pressure to sell.

Why Sell to Maple City Music?

Selling a collection one record at a time can take months—or even years.

Online marketplaces also involve photographing, researching, listing, grading, packing, shipping, fees, returns, and dealing with individual buyers.

Maple City Music offers a simpler option.

We're a local, veteran-owned independent record store with a genuine appreciation for music and the collections people have spent years building.

Our goal is to make the process straightforward, respectful, and fair.

A Note About Collection Value

We want to be transparent about how record-store purchasing works.

A record's online asking price isn't necessarily its actual market value, and a store cannot pay full retail price for inventory it intends to resell.

Value depends on many factors, including the specific pressing, condition, completeness, demand, and the title's current market.

We'll evaluate your collection based on what is actually there—not simply the age of the records or prices seen online.
