Why This Record Matters
Styx II is the band’s second studio album and includes “Lady,” the Dennis DeYoung composition that became Styx’s first major hit after gaining renewed radio exposure. The album combines the progressive and hard-rock elements of the group’s early Wooden Nickel period, with Dennis DeYoung, James Young, John Curulewski, Chuck Panozzo, and John Panozzo in the lineup. It was recorded at Paragon Recording Studios in Chicago and produced by John Ryan.

Collector Note
This U.S. Wooden Nickel WNS-1012 repress was pressed by RCA Records Pressing Plant, Indianapolis, identified by the stamped “I” in the supplied runouts. Both sides carry STERLING markings and LH for Lee Hulko, who cut the lacquers at Sterling Sound. This copy includes the original inner sleeve.
