Why This Record Matters
Back In Black was AC/DC’s first album with Brian Johnson following the death of Bon Scott and was produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange. Recorded at Compass Point Studios, it includes “Hells Bells,” “Back In Black,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” and “Rock And Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution.” It became one of the band’s defining releases and one of the most commercially successful rock albums.

This 1980 U.S. Atlantic SD 16018 edition is a Specialty Records Corporation pressing with the embossed cover and grey-print configuration. The supplied runouts carry MASTERDISK RL on both sides, identifying Bob Ludwig’s mastering and lacquer cut, and this copy includes the original inner sleeve.
