Why This CD Matters
Medusa was Annie Lennox’s second solo studio album and followed her successful 1992 debut Diva. The album consists of Lennox’s interpretations of songs associated with other writers and performers, including “Take Me To The River,” “A Whiter Shade Of Pale,” “Train In Vain,” and “Waiting In Vain.” Its opening track, “No More ‘I Love You’s’,” became one of Lennox’s signature solo recordings and won the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

This 1995 U.S. Arista/BMG edition carries catalog number 74321-25717-2 and was manufactured in the U.S.A. for Arista Records. This edition is identified as an HMG pressing, while production was handled by Stephen Lipson and the album was recorded and mixed at The Aquarium. The ten-track program features orchestral, brass, and string arrangements by Anne Dudley alongside contributions from musicians including Doug Wimbish, Marius de Vries, and Peter-John Vettese.
