Why This CD Matters
Yo-Yo Ma and harpsichordist Kenneth Cooper perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s three sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord, BWV 1027–1029, with Ma taking the string part on cello. The program encompasses all eleven movements of the three sonatas. Richard Einhorn produced the recording.

This US CBS Masterworks CD reissue carries catalog number MK 37794 and presents a digital recording originally copyrighted and phonographically copyrighted in 1983. The recording was mixed from Soundstream digital masters to the JVC digital system and mastered from the original studio digital recording at Masterdisk by William Kipper.
