Why This CD Matters
Different Light became the Bangles’ commercial breakthrough, featuring “Manic Monday,” “Walk Like An Egyptian,” and “Walking Down Your Street.” Prince wrote “Manic Monday” under the pseudonym Christopher, while the album also includes the band’s version of Big Star’s “September Gurls.” Produced by David Kahne, the album reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and established the Bangles among the most commercially successful American pop-rock groups of the mid-1980s.

This 1986 U.S. Columbia CD carries catalog number CK 40039, DADC code DIDP 20478, and barcode 074644003925. This edition was glass mastered at DADC and made by Digital Audio Disc Corp., with “Made in USA - Digital Audio Disc Corp.” etched into the transparent inner ring. The identified edition was issued in a smooth-sided jewel case and contains the original 12-track album program.
