Bashir Abdel Al – The Art of the Arabian Flute (CD, Album, 2000, Musical Heritage Society 515658A)

Why This CD Matters
Bashir Abdel Al is a virtuoso of the nay, the end-blown reed flute central to traditional Arabic music. The album combines his expressive flute and vocal performances with keyboards, sequencing, and percussion, creating a bridge between traditional Middle Eastern melodies and contemporary arrangements. Its extended performances allow Abdel Al’s ornamentation and improvisational phrasing to remain at the center of the music.
