Bee Gees – Main Course (Vinyl LP, RSO SO 4807, Specialty Pressing, George Piros Cut)

Why This Record Matters
Main Course marked a major shift in the Bee Gees’ sound, bringing funk and R&B elements to the foreground under producer Arif Mardin. “Jive Talkin’” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Nights on Broadway” and “Fanny (Be Tender With My Love)” also became major U.S. singles. The album features Blue Weaver on keyboards and synthesizer alongside Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, with additional contributions including Ray Barretto and Joe Farrell.

Collector Note
This U.S. RSO SO 4807 stereo repress is a Specialty Records Corporation pressing, identified by the supplied SRC marks and SP label matrices. Both supplied runouts carry AT GP, identifying Atlantic Studios and George Piros, who mastered and cut this edition. The 75 Rockefeller Plaza address and Warner Communications logo in the label rim text identify this as the later-1970s configuration.
