Paranoid established Black Sabbath as one of the foundational bands of heavy metal and contains “War Pigs,” “Paranoid,” “Iron Man,” and “Fairies Wear Boots.” The album features the original lineup of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, with Rodger Bain producing. This 1971 US Warner Bros. WS 1887 edition uses the green Warner Bros. labels and was pressed at Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman, identified by the stamped P in the supplied runouts. Both variant 4 runouts carry the stamped Artisan Sound Recorders logo, identifying the lacquer-cutting facility. This edition was issued in a gatefold jacket.
