Why This CD Matters
Vol II is an experimental metal release built around the 19-EDO microtonal tuning system, dividing the octave into 19 equal steps instead of the conventional 12. St. Johnsbury musician Russ Hayes uses the Bostjan Zupancic identity to combine progressive, symphonic, death, and doom-metal elements with unconventional tonal structures. The result is a distinctly Vermont-made exploration of microtonal heavy music.
