Why This Record Matters
Bruce Springsteen’s second studio album expanded his early Jersey Shore sound into sweeping rock-and-roll narratives backed by the musicians who would become the E Street Band. Featuring “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight),” “4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy),” and “Incident On 57th Street,” it remains one of the defining albums of Springsteen’s early career.
Collector Note
Original 1973 US Pitman pressing on Columbia, catalog number KC 32432. The KC prefix identifies the album’s first-issue period before Columbia changed the catalog prefix to PC following Springsteen’s breakthrough with Born To Run.
