Burt Bacharach composed and conducted the music for the 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford, and Katharine Ross. The score combines instrumental themes with songs written by Bacharach and Hal David, most notably B.J. Thomas’ “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head.” Bacharach received Academy Awards for both the film’s original score and “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head,” making the soundtrack one of his defining film projects.
