Why This Record Matters
Waking Up With The House On Fire is Culture Club’s third studio album and includes the singles “The War Song,” “The Medal Song,” and “Mistake No. 3.” Produced by Steve Levine, the album was digitally recorded at London’s Red Bus Studios using a Sony PCM 3324 and digitally mixed using the Sony PCM 1610 system. The record continued the group’s mid-1980s combination of pop, soul, reggae-influenced material, and synthesizer-based production.

Collector Note
This is the 1984 U.S. Epic / Virgin OE 39881 stereo LP pressed at Columbia Records’ Pitman plant, with the supplied runouts carrying STERLING markings on both sides. The lacquer was cut at Sterling Sound, with Greg Calbi credited for the lacquer cut. This copy includes the confirmed original lyric inner sleeve.
