Why This Record Matters
War Babies is Hall & Oates’ third studio album and their final album for Atlantic before moving to RCA. Todd Rundgren produced and engineered the record while also contributing lead guitar and backing vocals, giving the album a more experimental art-rock character than the duo’s later pop hits. The sessions also featured Rundgren/Utopia associates John Siegler and John Wilcox.

This 1974 US Atlantic SD 18109 edition is a Presswell pressing, identified by the PR plant code on the labels and runouts. The supplied matrices carry STERLING mastering marks, with side A additionally bearing the Atlantic Studios AT inscription. This copy includes the confirmed original photo/lyric inner sleeve.
