Why This CD Matters
Before These Crowded Streets was Dave Matthews Band’s third major-label studio album and became the group’s first album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Produced by Steve Lillywhite, it stretches the band’s rock foundation through jazz-influenced arrangements and extended performances including “The Last Stop,” “Crush,” and “The Dreaming Tree.” The album also includes “Don’t Drink The Water” and “Stay (Wasting Time),” two prominent songs from this period of the band’s career.
