Why This Record Matters
Low marked a major shift in David Bowie’s work, combining concise art-rock songs on Side A with largely instrumental, atmospheric pieces on Side B. Produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti, it includes “Sound And Vision,” “Breaking Glass,” and the Brian Eno collaboration “Warszawa.” The album became the first release in the sequence commonly known as Bowie’s Berlin Trilogy.
Collector Note
This 1977 U.S. RCA Victor CPL1-2030 stereo edition was pressed at RCA Records Pressing Plant, Indianapolis, identified by the stamped “I” in the supplied variant 18 runouts. Both sides carry STERLING markings, with the Side A runout also bearing Greg Calbi’s “gc” signature, and this copy includes the original printed inner sleeve.
