Devo – Oh, No! It's Devo (Vinyl LP, 1982, Warner Bros. 1-23741, Specialty Records Pressing)

Why This Record Matters
Oh, No! It's Devo is Devo’s fifth studio album, moving the group further toward synthesizer-driven new wave while retaining the satirical perspective central to its earlier work. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker and recorded at Cherokee Studios in Hollywood, the album includes “Peek-a-boo!,” “That's Good,” “Time Out For Fun,” and “Speed Racer.” Its electronic arrangements and tightly programmed sound capture Devo during a period when synthesizers and music-video presentation were becoming increasingly central to the band’s identity.
