Why This CD Matters
Fly was the Dixie Chicks’ 1999 follow-up to Wide Open Spaces and features major songs including “Ready To Run,” “Cowboy Take Me Away,” and “Goodbye Earl.” Natalie Maines is joined by Emily Robison and Martie Seidel, whose banjo, dobro, fiddle, viola, guitar, and harmony vocals helped define the group’s sound. Produced by Blake Chancey and Paul Worley, the album combines contemporary country songwriting with country-rock and pop-rock production.

Collector Note
This 1999 U.S. Monument edition carries catalog number NK 69678 and is the blue-cover variant of Fly, one of four original cover-color variations. The disc is HDCD encoded and was glass mastered at Sony Disc Manufacturing in Springfield under identifier CTDP-098642. Denny Purcell mastered the album, with digital editing by Carlos Grier and Eric Conn.
