Why This Record Matters
Back On The Streets was Donnie Iris's debut solo album and established the sound he developed with Mark Avsec and the musicians who became the Cruisers. The album features “Ah! Leah!,” which reached No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100, along with “I Can't Hear You” and the title track. Produced by Avsec and recorded at Jeree Studios, the album reached No. 57 on the Billboard 200 and became the principal commercial breakthrough of Iris's solo career.
