Why This Record Matters
Rio is Duran Duran’s second studio album and includes “Hungry Like The Wolf,” “Save A Prayer,” and the title track. Produced and engineered by Colin Thurston, the album became a defining release of the band’s early-1980s breakthrough. Patrick Nagel created the distinctive cover illustration.

Collector Note
This May 1982 U.S. Harvest ST-12211 edition is the first-release Winchester pressing containing the original album versions rather than the longer Kershenbaum-remixed Side A used on later U.S. editions. The supplied runouts, ST-1-12211 Z5 TMLX ─◁ and ST-2-12211-Z2 #2 TML-M ─◁, correspond to The Mastering Lab lacquers pressed at Capitol Records Pressing Plant, Winchester.
