Why This CD Matters
Tarkus was Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s second studio album and is centered on the 20-minute title suite, one of the group’s defining extended compositions. Keith Emerson’s keyboards, Greg Lake’s vocals, bass and guitars, and Carl Palmer’s percussion drive a program that became a major part of ELP’s progressive-rock catalog. Greg Lake produced the album, with Eddy Offord engineering.

Collector Note
This 1996 US Rhino Records edition carries catalog number R2 72224 and was newly remastered from the original master tapes by Joseph M. Palmaccio. It is a seven-track CD presentation preserving the complete 20:35 “Tarkus” suite as the opening track.
