461 Ocean Boulevard marked Eric Clapton’s return to a sustained solo career and was produced by Tom Dowd at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami. The album reached No. 1 in the US and includes Clapton’s version of Bob Marley’s “I Shot The Sheriff,” which also topped the US singles chart, alongside “Let It Grow” and “Motherless Children.”
