Why This Record Matters
Replicas is the second and final Tubeway Army studio album and the record that established Gary Numan’s synthesizer-centered approach on a wider scale. It includes “Are 'Friends' Electric?” and “Down In The Park,” alongside the album’s dystopian machine-themed material. Numan wrote and produced the album, with Paul Gardiner on bass and Jess Lidyard on drums.
