Why This Record Matters
Move It On Over was George Thorogood and the Destroyers’ second album and became an important early commercial success for the independently distributed Rounder Records. The album applies the band’s blues-rock approach to material associated with Hank Williams, Bo Diddley, Elmore James, Chuck Berry, and other blues and rock-and-roll writers. Its title track and “Who Do You Love?” became enduring parts of Thorogood’s catalog.

This 1978 U.S. Rounder Records 3024 edition is a Wakefield Manufacturing pressing, with the Wakefield identifier and 33824 manufacturing number present in the supplied runouts. The Side A runout also carries stamped MASTERDISK and the DC identifier for Dave Crawford’s lacquer cut. Recording took place at Dimension Sound in Boston, with mixing at The Mixing Lab in Newton, Massachusetts.
