Living My Life completed the run of Grace Jones albums recorded at Compass Point Studios with the rhythm section of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare and musicians including Wally Badarou, Mikey Chung, Barry Reynolds, and Sticky Thompson. Produced by Chris Blackwell and Alex Sadkin, the album includes “My Jamaican Guy,” “Nipple To The Bottle,” and “The Apple Stretching.” Its combination of electronic production, funk, disco, and Caribbean rhythmic influences is central to Jones’s early-1980s sound.
