Why This Record Matters
Squeezing Out Sparks was Graham Parker And The Rumour’s 1979 Arista debut and was produced by Jack Nitzsche. The album includes “Local Girls,” “You Can't Be Too Strong” and “Passion Is No Ordinary Word.” Parker wrote all ten tracks, backed by the Rumour lineup of Brinsley Schwarz, Martin Belmont, Bob Andrews, Andrew Bodnar and Steve Goulding.

This 1979 U.S. Arista AB 4223 edition is a Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman pressing. The supplied runouts carry the STERLING stamp and “gC” signature associated with lacquer cutting by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound. This copy includes its original inner sleeve.
