Why This Record Matters
Terrapin Station marked the Grateful Dead’s 1977 debut for Arista Records and paired the band with producer Keith Olsen. Side two is devoted to the 16-minute “Terrapin Part 1” suite, while the album also includes “Estimated Prophet,” “Dancin’ In The Streets,” and “Samson & Delilah.” Paul Buckmaster supplied orchestral arrangements, with the Martyn Ford Orchestra and English Chorale contributing to the album’s expanded studio production.

Collector Note
This 1977 U.S. Arista AL 7001 edition is an All Disc Records pressing, identified by the “33” marking in the supplied deadwax. The supplied runouts include Kendun mastering inscriptions and the distinctive ♡POGO messages, and this copy includes the original inner sleeve.
