Why This Record Matters
This 1982 US compilation introduced American listeners to material drawn largely from Heaven 17’s early Virgin recordings, including “(We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang,” “Penthouse And Pavement,” “Play To Win,” and “Let Me Go.” The group was formed around Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, formerly of The Human League, with vocalist Glenn Gregory. British Electric Foundation produced the recordings, combining synthesizer-driven pop with electronic funk and new wave.

This US Arista AL 6606 edition was pressed by Hauppauge Record Manufacturing, identified by the HRM markings on both supplied runouts. Side A also carries the MASTERING BY FRANKFORD/WAYNE NEW YORK stamp. This copy includes the confirmed original inner sleeve.
