Why This CD Matters
Originally released in 1970, Rides Again was the James Gang’s second studio album and a key early showcase for Joe Walsh on guitar, keyboards, and vocals. The album opens with “Funk #49” and includes the multi-part “The Bomber,” alongside “Tend My Garden” and “Ashes The Rain And I.” Bill Szymczyk produced and engineered the album, with Walsh joined by bassist Dale Peters and drummer Jim Fox.

This 2000 U.S. MCA Records reissue carries catalog number 088 112 283-2 and presents the album in digitally remastered form. Bill Szymczyk and Ted Jensen handled the digital remastering, while the original album was mastered at Artisan Sound Recorders. This edition restores “The Bomber” as the complete “Closet Queen / Bolero / Cast Your Fate To The Wind” medley within the original nine-track album program.
