First Time Out is the 1973 debut album by the James Montgomery Band, built around Montgomery's vocals and harmonica and a blues-rock lineup featuring Peter Malick, Peter Bell, David Case, Billy Mather, and Chuck Purro. The album was recorded and mixed at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia during July and August 1973. George Marino mastered the album at Sterling Sound.
