Enigmatic Ocean is a 1977 jazz-fusion album composed, orchestrated, conducted, and produced by Jean-Luc Ponty. Its lineup pairs Ponty with guitarists Allan Holdsworth and Daryl Stuermer, keyboardist Allan Zavod, bassist Ralphe Armstrong, and drummer Steve Smith. The album became one of Ponty’s major commercial releases of the period while bringing electric violin into a tightly arranged jazz-rock setting.
