Band Of Gypsys documents Jimi Hendrix performing live at the Fillmore East in New York with bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles during the 1969–70 New Year’s performances. The album includes the extended “Machine Gun,” alongside “Who Knows,” “Power To Love,” and “Message Of Love,” capturing Hendrix in a stripped-down trio setting distinct from the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Eddie Kramer supervised the remixing and engineering, and the album remains an important document of Hendrix’s final period of musical development.
