The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get is Joe Walsh’s 1973 album with Barnstorm and includes “Rocky Mountain Way,” one of Walsh’s signature recordings. Walsh produced the album with Bill Szymczyk, who also handled engineering and mixing. The sessions feature Joe Vitale, Kenny Passarelli, Rocke Grace, Joe Lala, Clydie King, and Venetta Fields.

This 1973 U.S. Dunhill/ABC Records DSX-50140 stereo gatefold edition is a Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman pressing. The supplied runouts carry the Pitman “P” identifier along with STERLING and LH markings for Sterling Sound and Lee Hulko, and this copy includes the original inner sleeve.
