Why This Record Matters
One World marked a further expansion of John Martyn’s folk-rooted sound through dub-influenced production, effects and atmospheric studio techniques. Produced by Chris Blackwell, the album features contributions from Steve Winwood, Danny Thompson, Rico Rodriguez and other notable musicians, with “Small Hours” becoming one of Martyn’s signature recordings.

Collector Note
US 1978 Island Records repress pressed at Columbia’s Pitman plant, distinguished by its reversed track sequence placing “Couldn't Love You More” at the beginning of Side A. Both sides carry STERLING in the runouts, and the original inner sleeve is included.
