Why This CD Matters
Jon Secada’s 1992 self-titled debut established the Cuban-American singer-songwriter with “Just Another Day,” “Angel,” and “Do You Believe In Us,” while also incorporating Spanish-language versions of two songs at the end of the album. Produced by Emilio Estefan Jr., Jorge Casas, and Clay Ostwald, the record developed Secada’s crossover sound through pop, Latin, soft-rock, and contemporary production. The album became Secada’s commercial breakthrough and introduced the solo career of an artist who had previously worked as a songwriter and backing vocalist with Gloria Estefan.

This is the 1992 U.S. BMG Direct Marketing club edition of Jon Secada’s self-titled album on SBK Records, catalog number CDP-98845, with BMG club number D 110742/D110742. The edition was manufactured for and licensed to BMG Direct Marketing, with the release glass mastered by Sonopress USA. The album was mastered by Bob Ludwig at Masterdisk and contains the complete 12-track program, including “Otro Dia Más Sin Verte” and the Spanish-language version of “Angel.”
