Kevin McKendree – Hammers & Strings (CD, Album, Powerhouse Records POW 120)

Why This CD Matters
Hammers & Strings puts Kevin McKendree’s piano and Hammond B-3 playing at the center of a set that moves through boogie-woogie, blues ballads, and New Orleans-style R&B. “Boogie #427,” “Let’s Go Get Stoned,” and “Sixty Sharp Knives” show the range of the album’s piano-led sound. Guest vocals from Delbert McClinton and Big Joe Maher add another dimension to the 2005 release.
