Why This Record Matters
Mother Lode is Loggins And Messina’s fourth studio album, released in 1974 during the duo’s successful run on Columbia. Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina divide the songwriting across the album, with the supporting musicians including Larry Sims, Merel Bregante, and keyboardist Dave Paich. Messina also produced the album and contributed lead guitar and mandolin.

This 1974 U.S. Columbia PC 33175 stereo edition was pressed by Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Terre Haute, and mastered by Allen Zentz, whose AZ initials appear in the supplied runouts. This copy includes the original printed inner sleeve.
