Why This CD Matters
Ballads Thrice Twisted documents Vermont folk singer and song collector Margaret MacArthur’s work preserving traditional songs from Vermont, New England, and the British Isles. The 17-song program draws heavily from historic narrative-ballad traditions and features members of the MacArthur family. Sixteen selections are traditional, while the closing “Sonoran Camels” was written by MacArthur.
