Michael Hoppé • Tim Wheater – The Yearning: Romances For Alto Flute (CD, Album, 1993, TELDEC)

Why This CD Matters
The Yearning pairs Michael Hoppé’s keyboards and romantic modern-classical compositions with the deep, expressive tone of Tim Wheater’s alto flute. Each piece is dedicated to a notable woman from the worlds of film, dance, literature, or public life, including Marlene Dietrich, Mary Pickford, Vita Sackville-West, and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The album was named CD of the Year by CD Review.
