Rumble Doll is Patti Scialfa’s debut solo album after years of work as a member of the E Street Band and a backing vocalist for other major artists. Scialfa wrote the album’s songs and recorded them with musicians including Mike Campbell, Bruce Springsteen, Nils Lofgren, Benmont Tench, Jim Keltner, Jeff Porcaro, Roy Bittan, and Kenny Aronoff. The album established the personal roots-rock style that Scialfa continued on her later solo releases.

This original 1993 US Columbia CD edition carries catalog number CK 44223. Mike Campbell produced the album, while Bruce Springsteen contributed guitar and keyboards to “Talk To Me Like The Rain” and keyboards to “Big Black Heaven.”
