Security is Peter Gabriel’s fourth solo studio album and includes “Shock The Monkey,” his first Top 40 single in the United States. Gabriel and David Lord produced the album, incorporating extensive Fairlight CMI programming alongside percussion, synthesizers, and Tony Levin’s Chapman Stick. Its combination of electronic processing and acoustic percussion became an important part of Gabriel’s early-1980s sound.
