Why This Record Matters
Mama Africa combines Peter Tosh’s roots-reggae foundation with polished early-1980s production and includes the title track, “Not Gonna Give It Up,” and his reggae interpretation of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode.” Tosh also revisits “Stop That Train” and “Maga Dog,” songs connected to his earlier work with the Wailers.
