Why This CD Matters
Empire is Queensrÿche’s 1990 follow-up to Operation: Mindcrime and became the band’s biggest commercial album, driven by “Jet City Woman,” “Empire,” and “Silent Lucidity.” Produced by Peter Collins, the album combines progressive and hard-rock arrangements with Geoff Tate’s vocals, while “Silent Lucidity” features orchestration by Michael Kamen.

This 2003 U.S. Capitol remastered reissue was manufactured for BMG Direct as D 148747 and pressed by DADC under DIDX-127815. Robert Vosgien remastered the original album program, while Evren Göknar remastered the three bonus tracks; the confirmed matrix/runout is DIDX-127815 K4 1A 02.
