Why This Record Matters
Out Of Time became one of R.E.M.’s most commercially successful albums, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and featuring “Losing My Religion” and “Shiny Happy People.” Produced by R.E.M. and Scott Litt, the album expanded the band’s alternative-rock sound with strings, horns, and guest appearances including Kate Pierson and KRS-One. “Losing My Religion” became one of the band’s defining singles and won two Grammy Awards.

This 2016 European 25th Anniversary Edition was remastered from the original analog masters and pressed on 180-gram vinyl by Optimal Media GmbH. Bernie Grundman and Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering are credited with the lacquer cutting; this copy retains its confirmed original inner sleeve and remains in the shrink.
