Santana’s third studio album continued the band’s fusion of Latin percussion, rock, jazz, and psychedelic influences while expanding the instrumental lineup that defined its early-1970s sound. The album features “No One To Depend On,” “Everybody’s Everything,” “Toussaint L'Overture,” and “Everything's Coming Our Way,” with Carlos Santana and Gregg Rolie joined by percussionists Michael Carabello and José Chepito Areas. It also features young guitarist Neal Schon and contributions from the Tower of Power horn section, documenting an important transitional lineup in Santana’s early catalog.
