Why This CD Matters
Shania Twain is the singer’s 1993 debut studio album and documents her career before the major commercial breakthrough of The Woman in Me. The album includes the early singles “What Made You Say That,” “Dance With The One That Brought You,” and “You Lay A Whole Lot Of Love On Me,” with production by Harold Shedd and Norro Wilson. Although its initial chart performance was modest, the album gained a much larger audience following Twain’s later success and was eventually certified platinum in the United States.

Collector Note
This U.S. Columbia House club edition was issued by Mercury under catalog number P2 14422, with “CRC” printed on the back insert identifying the Columbia Record Club distribution. The disc was glass mastered at Sony Disc Manufacturing in Springfield and carries DIDX-018554 02 in the matrix, with mastering SID code IFPI L337 and mould SID code IFPI 5100. This is a club-edition reissue of Twain’s 1993 debut and retains the original 10-track program.
