Why This CD Matters
Weaving My Ancestors' Voices was Sheila Chandra’s first album for Real World Records and began a trilogy of recordings centered on the human voice and drone. The music draws from Indian and other vocal traditions while using unusually sparse instrumentation, and includes a reworking of “Ever So Lonely,” originally associated with Chandra’s group Monsoon. The album also appeared on Billboard’s world music chart.

Collector Note
