Simon & Garfunkel – The Best Of Simon & Garfunkel (CD, Compilation, Remastered, Columbia / Legacy CK 66022, US, 1999)

Why This CD Matters
Simon & Garfunkel’s close harmonies and Paul Simon’s songwriting helped define 1960s folk rock, and this 20-song collection spans early hits such as “The Sound Of Silence” through later recordings like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “My Little Town.” The sequence moves between acoustic folk, pop, and fuller studio arrangements, tracing the duo’s changing sound across a decade. “America,” “The Boxer,” and “Mrs. Robinson” bring together several of their most enduring songs.
