Why This CD Matters
Down On The Upside was Soundgarden’s fifth studio album and the final studio album released before the band’s 1997 breakup. The album produced “Pretty Noose,” “Burden In My Hand,” and “Blow Up The Outside World,” with “Pretty Noose” earning a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance. Soundgarden produced the album themselves with Adam Kasper serving as co-producer, engineer, and mixer, giving the record a production identity distinct from its predecessor Superunknown.
