Why This CD Matters
Dirt Track Date was Southern Culture On The Skids’ first album for DGC Records and introduced the band’s blend of rockabilly, surf music, country, and Southern rock to a wider audience. The album includes “Camel Walk,” “Voodoo Cadillac,” “Soul City,” and “8 Piece Box.” “Camel Walk” became one of the band’s best-known recordings and received exposure on alternative-rock radio and MTV.

Collector Note
This original 1995 US DGC edition was pressed by Sony Music’s Pitman facility under catalog number DGCD-24821. The release was packaged with a clear disc tray and an eight-page booklet and was mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound.
